The City of Brevard announced on April 9 that East Main Street will be closed from Broad to Johnson on Saturday, April 11, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. due to the Assault on the Carolinas bicycle race.

The road closure is intended to ensure safety for both participants and local drivers during the event. The city urges drivers in the area to be patient and remain alert for bicyclists as they travel through downtown.

According to officials, full course maps are available on the event website for those interested in planning their routes or learning more about the race’s path through town.

City representatives thanked residents and commuters for their cooperation, saying, “Thanks for helping keep everyone safe!”

The annual event draws cyclists from across the region and is expected to bring increased activity downtown throughout Saturday.
