U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) has recently been appointed to several House Committee on Appropriations subcommittees by Chairwoman Kay Granger (TX-12). Edwards expressed his enthusiasm for the new roles, stating, “I am excited to continue serving the folks of Western North Carolina in a new capacity from my position on these appropriations subcommittees. We need to restore sensible spending in Washington, and I plan on using my experience as a state appropriator and in business to responsibly steward hard-earned taxpayer dollars.” He also highlighted his commitment to representing North Carolina, mentioning, “As the only North Carolina member on the Appropriations Committee, I look forward to bringing more of NC to DC and making life better for the citizens of our great district, state and nation.”

Chairwoman Granger acknowledged Edwards’ background and expertise, stating, “Chuck’s background as a state appropriator and businessman provides valuable insight into how decisions made in Congress directly affect American businesses and workers. His experience will be crucial as we work to prioritize federal spending to our most pressing needs, and I am confident that he will do that thoughtfully in his new subcommittee assignments.”
