The City of Brevard announced on May 14 that a portion of the Estatoe Trail between Morris Road and Excelsior Drive will be temporarily closed on Friday, May 15. The closure is necessary so Public Works crews can repair a collapsed storm drain in that area.

The temporary closure affects both pedestrians and cyclists who use this segment of the trail. The city said users should exercise caution and follow posted detour signs during the repair work.

According to the announcement, “On Friday, May 15, Public Works crews will temporarily close part of the Estatoe Trail between Morris Rd and Excelsior Dr to repair a collapsed storm drain. Pedestrians & cyclists should exercise caution on the path & observe the detour during that time.”

No additional background information was provided about how long repairs are expected to take or whether further closures might be needed in the future.

Trail users are encouraged to plan alternate routes while repairs are underway.
