The North Carolina Department of Transportation announced on March 23 that lane closures will take place along Gallimore Road (State Road 1118) and US-276/Greenville Highway between March 25 and April 8. The closures are necessary for the installation of wheelchair ramps at the new signalized intersection at the end of Gallimore Road.

The work is scheduled to occur each day from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in order to minimize conflicts with nearby school schedules, according to officials. Signs and flaggers will be present in the area to help control traffic while construction is underway.

These changes are intended to improve accessibility and safety at the intersection by ensuring compliance with requirements for wheelchair access. The project reflects ongoing efforts by transportation authorities to upgrade infrastructure in response to community needs.

Motorists traveling through this area during the affected dates are advised to plan for possible delays and exercise caution near work zones. Further updates may be provided as work progresses.
