Brevard College recently issued the following announcement on Feb. 1.
The Brevard College music department will host internationally acclaimed pianist Kwan Yi for a Guest Artist Recital on Monday, February 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Scott Concert Hall in the Porter Center for Performing Arts.
Mr. Yi has performed in many of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Auditorium du Louvre, and the Seoul Arts Center, and has played as soloist with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra and the Brevard Festival Orchestra. He trained at Curtis, Juilliard, and the Peabody Institute, with teachers including Leon Fleischer. He currently holds a faculty position at Eastern Carolina University.
Mr. Yi’s program will include Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 7 and several pieces by Frederic Chopin.
The concert is free and open to the public. Seating is limited to 500 patrons, and all audience members must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
