Of the 2,216 people living in Fruitland in 2020, 53.2 percent (1,178) were women and 46.8 percent (1,038) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South Asheville News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 33. In the 65 and over age range, there were 495 females and 321 males.
