Libraries across the country have been offering movement classes because libraries are a simply great places to gather with friends and family to do things that are fulfilling.  Join us in the beautiful TCL Amphitheater for our next movement class, Qigong!  This class is designed for people of all ages, experience levels, and movement abilities.  Families and seniors are welcome!  Qigong, pronounced “chi gong”, is an ancient system of easy movements, postures, and breathing techniques that may help you:

  • Improve Flexibility, Balance, Posture, and Focus
  • Reduce Pain and Tension
  • Lift Your Mood, Vitality, & Health
You can try out a single class or attend all 8.  Registration is optional.

There is no backup location for rain so please check this event calendar for cancellations if there is a strong shower or thunderstorm.  The porch might be an alternate location for gentle rain.

~ Please wear comfortable, loose clothing and stable shoes.~

The class will be taught by Beth Thran Bunch, Certified Qigong Instructor, BCTMB, LMBT NC #11290, BFRP, Reiki Master.  Beth was introduced to Reiki in 1986 and began practicing yoga and meditation the same year following a gymnastics injury. She began her study of massage therapy in the late 1980’s, becoming licensed in 1994. Beth specializes in various energy healing modalities, including Reiki, CranioSacral Therapy & SomatoEmotional Release, as well as myofascial release.

Beth cut back her massage practice in 2012 due to chronic pain. After having heard about the many benefits of practicing qigong, Beth attended Qi Revolution in 2013. By the end of the program her chronic shoulder pain had disappeared, so she later completed Supreme Science Qigong Center’s level 1 instructor certification.

Beth continues to practice meditation, yoga and qigong as part of her self-care routine. She loves the gentle movement of qigong and the health benefits and improved ability to focus that she receives from her practice. She enjoys sharing her 30 years of study and practice with anyone who wants to learn.
