We are proud to announce that our very own 2022-23 Beginning Teacher of the Year, Breeana Clayton, has been selected as a finalist for the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) Empower Beginning Teacher of the Year Award. Ms. Clayton is an Exceptional Children’s teacher at Hendersonville Middle School and has made a significant impact in her first two years of teaching.
She will attend a celebration and week of Teacher Leadership at NCCAT’s Cullowhee campus March 6-10, 2023, during which time the NCCAT BTOY Selection Committee will review portfolios and interview the 27 finalists. The 2023 NCCAT Beginning Teacher of the Year winner will be announced at a celebration event on March 9, 2023.
