U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards has announced the establishment of a dedicated phone line, 223-FIX-FEMA, aimed at assisting residents of Western North Carolina in dealing with issues related to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) following the impact of Hurricane Helene.

In his statement, Edwards emphasized the importance of this new service for those affected by the hurricane. "Western North Carolinians who need help with or are having issues with FEMA should call 223-FIX-FEMA, and my office can engage with the agency directly on behalf of your application," he stated. He also urged people to report cases where individuals are living in tents or require shelter due to displacement caused by Hurricane Helene. "Likewise, if you know of anyone living in a tent, needing shelter, or are otherwise unhoused from Hurricane Helene, please call 223-FIX-FEMA and let us know where they are so we can help."

The initiative is part of an effort to streamline assistance for those navigating FEMA processes after natural disasters.
