U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards of North Carolina's 11th district responded to President Donald Trump's recent address to a joint session of Congress. Edwards expressed his approval of the president's actions since taking office.
"President Trump has wasted no time delivering on the promises he made to the people of Western North Carolina and citizens across our nation," stated Edwards.
He cited a CBS poll indicating that more than half of Americans approve of President Trump's initial months in office, contrasting it with former President Joe Biden's ratings when he left office. Edwards suggested this reflects public support for Trump's agenda.
The congressman highlighted several initiatives by President Trump, including his first official trip back to the mountains, efforts to strengthen border security, and restoring what he termed "common sense" in federal governance. According to Edwards, these actions align with the demands of American citizens for an "America First" approach.
Edwards concluded by expressing his eagerness to collaborate with the president. "I look forward to continuing working with the president to aid WNC’s recovery and make the most of this unique time in history to renew the American Dream and fix how Washington works."
