Touch a Truck Event at August 14 LoveHendo Saturday

City of Hendersonville issued the following announcement on July 22.

Round up the whole family to see, touch, and learn about our City of Hendersonville’s many fascinating trucks and vehicles on August 14 at the monthly LoveHendo Saturday! In partnership with the City’s Police, Fire, Public Works, and Water & Sewer departments, the whole family can learn about city services in a fun day on Main Street.

The idea for a Touch a Truck was developed by the City of Hendersonville’s Service Excellence Team as well as Sarah and Erika Evers of Dancing Bear Toys. The partnership is a natural fit to bring community partners together to educate visitors and locals in a fun way. Children will be able to get a passport stamped for each vehicle they visit and receive a prize after visiting all the stations along Main Street.

The Service Excellence program at the City of Hendersonville encourages City employees to provide great customer service and promotes collaboration between departments. The program also recognizes employees who go above and beyond to support residents, coworkers, visitors, and the community.

Dancing Bear Toys is a gathering place for locals and a place for tourists to experience our region's wacky side. They are committed to giving back to our community through free events, donations, and a free lending library of toys for teachers.
