As part of their Veterans' Day activities, students at Clear Creek Elementary School proudly raised

As part of their Veterans' Day activities, students at Clear Creek Elementary School proudly raised for the first time their very own official NC State Flag.  The flag is certified as having flown over the state capital in Raleigh.  Thanks to 5th-grade teacher Kristi Kicklighter, it was a gift to the school.

Ms. Kicklighter reached out to Senator Chuck Edwards who helped facilitate getting the flag for the school. He attended the ceremony this morning and presented the flag to the school. Local veterans of Clear Creek families were honored by name and with a parade and walk of honor as students and staff cheered them on.
