Press Release Statement
On 01/25/2023 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office received a request for canine tracking assistance on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Blue Ridge Parkway Law Enforcement.
A Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office Canine Deputy responded. While enroute investigators were notified due to the circumstances surrounding a vehicle which was located on a closed section of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office along with the above-mentioned agencies are currently searching for Osha Ray Berry Date of Birth 06/21/1983. (See Attached Picture)
Mr. Berry’s vehicle was located at the Pink Bed’s Overlook behind a closed and lock gate that it appears Mr. Berry’s vehicle drove through.
Currently no foul play is suspected, and this is being handled as a missing person’s investigation.
Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Osha Ray Berry is asked to call Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office at 828-884-3168.
Search Operations are being conducted currently and will continue through the early morning hours, if Mr. Berry is not located search operations will resume tomorrow morning. Search efforts are being prolonged due to extremely rough terrain.
