This week, Deputy Rick Brown with the MCSO trained officers with the Huntsville Police Department on Project Lifesaver. LEOs received comprehensive training on how to complete the intake paperwork and how to use the Project Lifesaver Database.
“Project Lifesaver” is a rapid response program that aids victims and families who have Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and autism and provides radio trackers to those with cognitive disabilities that are prone to wandering. LEOs received training about the program this week and how radio frequency transmitters are used.
Deputy Brown stated, “On behalf of myself and Sheriff Turner, we are grateful for the opportunity to train members of the Huntsville Police Department with Project Lifesaver. Our goal to locate at-risk community members quickly and safely is a top priority”.
