Sheriff Kevin Turner and members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office share the profound sadness and grief over the senseless killing of Huntsville Police Officer Garrett Crumby last night while responding to a call for service.
Officer Garrett Crumby gave the ultimate sacrifice while trying to keep our residents safe. We are fortunate to have dedicated and outstanding law enforcement officers who risk their lives daily in that pursuit. Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Crumby and his extended family within the Huntsville Police Department.
Sheriff Turner said, “Officer Garrett Crumby is a hero, and we will honor his memory and life of public service through our words and actions. His death leaves a tremendous hole in the hearts of so many people who had the chance to know him personally. Our heart goes out to his family, friends, and fellow officers through this difficult time."
