U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) has been appointed to the House Budget Committee's Oversight Task Force, aiming to enhance fiscal accountability, transparency, and integrity within the federal government. The appointment was made by House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-TX) and Budget Committee Member Congressman Jack Bergman (R-MI).

In response to his appointment, Congressman Edwards emphasized the pressing issue of national debt and its impact on future generations. He stated, "There is no greater threat to America's sovereignty than the $33 trillion dollars of debt that we've thrown onto our children and grandchildren. Washington's irresponsible spending of Americans' hard-earned tax dollars is jeopardizing our nation's security. It simply has to stop."

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to address this challenge, Edwards thanked Chairman Arrington and Congressman Bergman. He added, "I look forward to helping correct the Swamp's math problem that I hear so much about from Western North Carolinians."

Chairman Arrington highlighted Edwards' business background and common sense as valuable assets in developing a balanced budget. Arrington emphasized the need to rein in Washington's reckless spending and promote economic growth to preserve future opportunities for Americans.

The members of the Oversight Task Force include Congressman Jack Bergman (R-MI) as the Task Force Chair, Congressman Tom McClintock (R-CA), Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX), Congressman Ron Estes (R-KS), Congresswoman Stephanie Bice (R-OK), Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI), Congressman Chuck Edwards (R-NC), and Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-TX) as Ex-Officio.

With Congressman Edwards' appointment, the Oversight Task Force is expected to tackle one of the country's most significant challenges – addressing the national debt and ensuring responsible fiscal management.
