U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) has announced the opening of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in North Carolina's 11th district. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

"The annual Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity for high school students in North Carolina’s 11th district to showcase their talent, creativity and passion," said Congressman Edwards. "I’m even more excited to see the art that this year’s contestants will create for all the visitors at the Capitol to see."

Following the selection of the Congressional Art Competition winner, Congressman Edwards will host a "Facebook Favorite" competition on his official Facebook page for the public to vote for their preferred piece of art. The winning artwork will be displayed in Edwards’ Hendersonville district office, while the runner-up's piece will be showcased in his Washington, D.C. office.

High school students interested in participating in the competition are required to submit their artwork to the Hendersonville district office by April 24, 2024. Submissions can be made by dropping off the artwork at the Hendersonville district office, shipping it to the district office, leaving it at the students’ schools, or arranging alternative methods by contacting the district office directly.

For more information on the competition guidelines and requirements, interested students can visit edwards.house.gov/artcompetition or reach out to the Hendersonville district office at 828-435-7310.
