AdventHealth has been granted a Certificate of Need (CON) by the State of North Carolina, allowing for 26 additional beds at its new hospital in Weaverville. This approval increases the facility's total capacity to 93 beds, aiming to enhance healthcare services for residents in Buncombe, Graham, Madison, and Yancey Counties.
"We are thrilled to receive this approval, which allows us to better serve our community's health care needs," stated Brandon Nudd, President and CEO of AdventHealth’s hospitals in Western North Carolina. He emphasized that the expansion reflects their commitment to providing exceptional care and improving health outcomes across the region.
The hospital is situated on over 30 acres in Weaverville and will include advanced technology, surgical services, a labor and delivery unit, and an emergency department. The added beds are expected to expand these offerings further.
"We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from elected officials, local leaders, and members of the public who advocated on behalf of their communities in their support of AdventHealth’s application," Nudd added. He attributed the successful CON award to strong community backing from partners in Buncombe, Graham, Madison, and Yancey Counties.
AdventHealth plans to integrate these additional beds into the hospital's design through ongoing planning efforts that involve collaboration with the local community.
